They’re back! You have probably noticed the tall stacked boxes of mandarin oranges in your local supermarket. They are now in full supply. While shopping at Costco this week I bought a giant box of these oranges for my family.
After placing the box in my cart, I was a little bit hesitant if it was too big a box of oranges for our family. Were we really going to be able to eat that many before they go bad? I don’t want to be wasteful. These thoughts are common for me when deciding whether or not to purchase bulk sized items.
I decided to go ahead and purchase the large box this week and see how it goes, and I am really glad I did. Our family is going through the oranges much faster than I anticipated. They are delicious!
These mandarin oranges, or Christmas oranges as our friends so cutely named them because of the time of year they hit the stores, make such a great snack for everyone. My toddler loves them. Since these little oranges are so easy to peel and break apart they are great for children. It makes them feel very independent taking the peel off all by themselves. My baby also loves the oranges cut up in bit size pieces as a finger food.
Having the oranges out is beneficial for those times you are looking for something quick to much on. Plus it is such a healthy snack you feel great about it. It is one of those snacks you don’t feel guilty about if your kids eat a hundred of them. Especially because kids can get carried away with foods that they enjoy.
If you are going to a get together consider bringing some mandarin orangesalong for a hostess gift. They hold up well and are cute in the box, or easy to wrap should you want to take that extra step.
