One thing I love to do when spring rolls around is open up all the windows.  Allow fresh air to pour into your home, and revitalize you.  The air in your home from winter can be very stale, and there is nothing like renewing yourself and your home with fresh air.

Opening your windows is one of the best things you can do.  It helps get rid of odors, all without the use of a lot of chemicals.  Not to mention my guess is that it improves the air quality in your home, because the air outside is usually cleaner than inside.

Some of you may be thinking, that would be great but it is too cold where I live to do that right now.  My advice is to pick a day that the sun is shining so the sunlight beaming through the windows helps with the cold.  This is something we do in our house once and a while, even in cold weather.  We use it as an opportunity to bundle up inside with thick socks, slippers, a big sweater, and for me a huge robe on top of that!

It feels so nice and cozy to be bundled up thick, while fresh air lightens your spirit.  Also, if you cannot do it for very long because of the weather, I really enjoy taking the time to drink a hot tea or coffee, and hot chocolate or warm apple juice for the kids to heat us from the inside out the hour we do it.

A breath of fresh air is good for the soul.

What do you like to do to prepare for spring?

Pretty sure the air quality is worse outside than inside here in NYC... but the first thing I did today was pop open our windows and let the warm air breeze in... and I STILL have the windows open now! Hooray! Spring is on its way!
