After having children my appreciation and love for photography has grown in a way I never expected.  Its ability to capture a moment as well as keep a memory fresh in my mind is the reason photography holds a special place in my heart.  Some of my best memories have stayed with me simply because a photo exists to represent it.  When I think of some of my early childhood memories sometimes I have trouble deciphering whether I actual remember the moment or if it is the picture that keeps the memory alive.

Either way, a picture can directly tap into your emotions in a very unique and special way that can be treasured forever.  The great thing about sharing photography is that it has the ability to provoke emotions in others as well, whether it is pictures of your children, nature, or special events, we can all relate quickly through pictures.

As a Mom I take thousands of pictures, and every once in a while one comes out that I especially love.  Sometimes it happens unexpectedly.

This picture was taken while my family and I were on a weekend getaway in Whistler.  Although I didn’t know at the time I took the photo, it now holds a very special place in my heart because for me the 4 chairs represent our family of 4, and the nature gives me a feeling of peace.

I encourage you to share the photos you love, the moments you capture of your children, trips that you’ve done, or treasured memories.

Share the beauty that surrounds you, and your part of the world!

Many of my momemories from when I was really young are a mixture of dreams, photos, and reality. I miss the days when you got super excited about developing film. It was such a simple process back then. But I do like being able to edit pictures these days!

Pictures are an important part of our every day life because of my husband's brain injury. They are a window to all he forgets and tries hard to remember and a way for him to keep close to us.

What wonderful meaning pictures have for you and that they are a way for your husband to feel connected! That is powerful. I'm sorry to hear about his brain injury.

I love the photo you selected and the symbolism behind it. I need to get better at taking more pictures. I have a feeling I will become crazy picture lady once I have children :)
