Do you have a question? Are you wondering which direction you should go? Do you ever let signs guide you in life?

Picture
In the past I wouldn’t say I didn’t believe in signs, but I definitely did not pay close attention to them. There are lots of times in life when we feel unsure and we don’t know how to find the answers. Have you ever tried asking the question and watching for the signs?

Two things are for sure. If you want to be guided you must first be open to the possibility that something greater within you knows. Two, you must pay close attention. Pay attention to things out of the ordinary that happen. Pay attention to feelings that come over you. Give yourself opportunities to be quiet and receive messages from within. Notice synchronicities.

Earlier today I was questioning whether or not I should do something. I thought about it, and later decided to call my husband to see what he thought. He kind of waffled back and forth, most likely a product of the energy I was putting out there. His last words were, “Just leave it for now”, meaning don’t act.

This situation reminds me of 2 wise Oprah quotes I’d love to share with you:

“Doubt means don’t. Don’t move. Don’t answer. Don’t rush forward.”  ~Oprah Winfrey
"I trust that everything happens for a reason, even when we're not wise enough to see it."  ~Oprah Winfrey

After hanging up the phone with my husband, I went about my day still carrying inside the question. What I wanted was a sign. I got one.

It wasn’t until about 10 minutes after receiving the sign that I realized I found my answer. Once I recognized the sign a feeling came over me—both calmness and excitement. I felt at peace with what I should do, and excited to once again be shown when you believe, or are open, and when you are willing to pay attention, help is out there! Or in there, whichever the case may me. Some kind of energy, something you can’t touch, but feel is there to guide you.

Often it takes asking, and a little patience. Don’t we all want the answers RIGHT NOW!? When you don’t know- ask the question. Let it go from you out into the universe, or wherever the energy from our questions goes, and watch for the signs.

It is exhilarating when you find the answers you are looking for. There is loving energy out there ready to help, you just need to notice it and let it in. When you do the hairs on your arms will stand up for sure!

Have you ever experienced finding answer in the form of signs? Please do share!

So what was the sign!?

I go back and forth on this. I think part of me will always cling on to the belief in signs. Some greater energy guiding you to where you need to go like the attraction of magnets.

But still, there always seems to be those tough choices that we sway back on fourth looking for signs that may not be there. I think this is where, like you said, patience earns its value. So easy is it to become stressed, overwhelmed and anxious, and yet if we simply just keep living new things begin to unfold!

Have an awesome week Wendy!

@Chris -

I was reading a book and happen to come across a passage that was very similar to what I was debating. It wasn't until a few pages later that I realized it. I hope you have a great week, too!

This post reminds me of one of my favorite books, The Celestine Prophecy... have you read it? Thinking I need to re-read - it's been many years.

Thank you for the reminder that it's okay to ask for/about what you want...

Wendy, do you have a GoodReads account? I don't use mine often, but when I'm in the reading/thinking about reading mood, I find it's really valuable. It's a good way to share what you've read, remind yourself what you'd LIKE to read, and find good recommendations! :) I have the Celestine Prophecy in my "read" list.

Here's my goodreads page:

I thought I was following a sign once. Literally - a street sign. I got lost for 6 hours.

@Vishnu,

Oh my gosh! That sounds like something I would do. I have no sense of direction when it comes to driving.

I never really believed in signs either. Plus I always thought what if I read them wrong.
