Grandma passed away last year and it was our family’s first holiday season without her. It was definitely tough, but I think for me this go around will be even harder. Last year I was pregnant with my daughter whose due date was Dec 25. She ended up being late, but with the pregnancy and new baby I had a lot distracting me.
Whenever I think of the holidays I think of my Grandma. Grandma loved Christmas. Wait that is an understatement! Each year that Christmas was the best Christmas she ever had, and she meant it whole heartedly. Christmas meant the world to her, and she wasn’t afraid to let it bring her joy year round. If she felt like listening to a Christmas song in April she didn’t let anything stop her. I am glad she gave herself those little happy moments.
I wanted to share a song that my Grandmother gave to me as a child called Grandma’s Homemade Christmas Card by Merle Haggard. This was on a tape she gave me a long time ago and I still treasure it. Soon I will search it out and get the CD.
We love and miss you Grandma!
I am sure there will be lots more to share as the holidays get closer J
