One little tradition that I have recently passed onto my son that many of us did as children is making a wish blowing out the seed sphere of a dandelion. Letting yourself feel the excitement of the wish as the dandelion snow floats away in the air.
I don’t want my children to ever stop wishing about their dreams coming true. Wishing makes us feel happy, gives us hope, and makes us feel alive. What better way to wish than to help Mother Nature along and disperse her seeds? Feeling connected to nature can immediately bring you a feeling of inner peace, and wishing on a dandelion is one such way to do that.
Often those of us who wish on dandelion seed spheres keep the wish a secret inside. Not my son, he loves to share! In fact I think he gets just as much enjoyment out of sharing his wish as he does making it. It always makes my heart smile BIG when he lets me in on the creative wishes he comes up with...”Mommy you know what I wished? I wished to ride my bike!” Done I think!
Seeing them come true is a lot of fun too J
What traditions would you like to see passed on? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
One of my absolute favorite yearly trips as a kid was to Water Safari Enchanted Forest in upstate NY. I want to bring my kids there one day SOON so I can share it with them very badly! If this is a place you would like to visit, and I HIGHLY recommend it, you can actually win 2 tickets at MaltaMama and she even gives you 3 chances to enter, so if you are interested drop on by and check it out!
Happy Wishing!
