It is finally here J The Opening Ceremony is tonight! We have a fun family night planned to watch the ceremony together. Big Brother and Little Sister have their flags ready, and are very excited. The energy is in the air, and all morning Big Brother has been chanting “Happy Olympic Day!” While Little Sister repeats “Day!”
Seeing the city come even more alive is a special delight. It re-motivates you to become a tourist in your own town. A city known for its excellent and ethnic cuisine prompts you to want to go back to those favorite restaurants, and try the new ones you having been meaning to get to. Watching the broadcast of local chefs making some of their favorite dishes with the vast array of local food, especially seafood, is incredible and makes your mouth water.
Sharing the city you call home with the world is a lot of fun! It especially means a lot for me that my family and friends back east that have not made it out here yet get to see wonderful coverage on the area. I am hoping it will give them that little extra inspiration to get out here and visit!

Vancouver and its surrounding areas are an amazing and beautiful place. I sincerely hope that if you are one of the 3 billion people estimated to watch the Olympics that you thoroughly enjoy it. We plan on soaking up every minute of this great experience. However, it will probably mean a little excessive TV watchingJ, but who cares it is a special treat!
