I have an exciting announcement to make... this month we gained another member of our family. His name is Godiva Snoopy. I've put a few more pictures of him up on WendyIrene.com if you're interested in seeing them. He is such a joy and so much work! This is the first puppy we've ever had so I'm learning lots, and would love for you to leave me any tips you want to share. We are in the middle of potty training and teething, and taking him out in the middle of the night so we're a little tired, lol.

It's so exciting that it's October! We've started to put up a few Halloween decorations, and our pumpkin patch is looking amazing. I have dreams of covering our porch in pumpkins. The chickens are needing a little warmth in their coop, because the temperatures are dropping pretty low at night. Inside I've got lots of blankets and pillows out, and the fireplace is looking especially cozy.

It's that time of year! I'm so excited it's September. I'm definitely one of those September, October, November, December girls. We're ready for football and fires in the backyard, along with baking special fall treats. Our garden and flowers are looking really pretty right now, and I'm so grateful. Hi friends,

This week my daughter and I worked on our first ever Sourdough Vegetable Pot Pie. I made sourdough pie crust for the first time, and was so happy with how it turned out, while my daughter made the curry vegetable filling. 

For the pie crust I used Farmhouse on Boone Sourdough Pie Crust recipe as a guide, but changed the ingredients slightly. I tend to like using vegan butter substitute. You can find the recipe for the filling here: Vegetable Pot Pie Recipe. If you get the chance to make the pot pie, we highly recommend it. It does take a bit of time to put together, but it's worth it.
