On Martha Stewarts Organizing Tip of the Day 2 weeks ago one idea stood out to me. A carryall apron. Not for cooking but for cleaning. There are those days you go all out cleaning. For many of us it happens when someone one is coming over J, while the rest of the time it is regular maintenance. However, when you are doing a big clean a great way to lug all the cleaning supplies: rags, gloves, duster, spray bottle or whatever else you may be using, is to use an apron with big pockets and put everything you need in there. That way you have easy access and it goes with you from room to room.
There are 2 other reasons I liked this idea. One being that you know exactly where the cleaning supplies you are using are. Parents out there know how quickly a toddler can go for that dangerous bottle of cleaning supplies while you are looking down cleaning something. This way it is in your apron so you don’t have to worry. Using a bucket to carry everything means you have to set it down somewhere out of reach of the kids. That is not always easy or as convenient.
The other reason I like this idea is because it protects your clothes from getting sprayed with the chemicals. You may be saying well lots of the time when I am cleaning I don’t wear good cloths. Even still, do you really want chemicals all over your cloths to breathe in and rub off on your kids when you are done?
The second idea for today I saw on the Living On A Dime Blog. It really appealed to me because I am a big tea drinker.
This idea is for Valentine’s Day♥
It costs almost nothing, is super easy to do, and will add a little touch of love to a relaxing cup of tea for someone you love.
Cut out a heart and glue it to the end of a tea bag string. You can even write a loving word on the heart to take it a step further.
Along these lines a gift idea for your tea loving loved one is to fill a mug full of tea bags with hearts. You could use a mug you already own, or maybe be on the lookout for a heart or love themed mug. Although it is a more expensive option Starbucks has a celebration mug I love that you can write your own message on. Filling that with words of love, and heart adorned tea bags would be another nice option.
If Valentine’s Day isn’t your cup of tea (no pun intended ;-), you could use the heart adorned tea bag any day of the year for a nice simple touch of love.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Do you have any traditions that you do for your loved ones, like heart shaped pancakes or lipstick messages?
