Today Katie from Legally Fit moved me beyond words in her incredible post The Impact of Blogging. I’m constantly astonished by how blessed I am to have such amazing people in my life!
Katie both inspires and motivates me. Reading about her wonderful success with fitness is a big reason I decided to sign up for boot camp, in orderto make fitness more of a priority in my life, something I was really waffling with before. I believe it is people that provide the best source of motivation we are in need of to make changes in our life. How fortunate we are in this day in age to have such great access to one another and the fountains of inspiration to live life in the best way for us.
Already in just a couple of weeks of adding regular exercise to my life I feel healthier and stronger. Exercise can uplift you and enhance your life both physically and mentally. When you are out of the routine you forget about just how powerful it can be. It is something a lot of us let go of from time to time, myself included.
The longer you stick with the exercise routine, I find the more you get out of it. Once you get over that hump of dreading exercise (and a lot of the time it is a mental climb) you can actually start to look forward to it. Like happiness exercise is also very person dependant and it is important to find what works best and feels right for you. For example being in a class, having a pre-paid appointed time, most importantly being surrounded by people to push me is what I needed to make exercise a priority. I just wasn’t pushing myself or motivated enough at home. In the class there are some great people to help me go harder, and get more out of exercise than I would at home.
Not everyone needs that which is why I say it is person dependant. Finding and figuring out what you personally need is key. Maybe it is simply exercising by doing an activity you enjoy. I can’t say that I particularly love doing planks, tricep dips or lunges but as a stay at home Mom I do enjoy getting out of the house, and being surrounded by great company to give me that push I need to be stronger.
Katie and her blog have inspired me to give myself this gift of strength, which is only one of the many ways she inspires and motivates me. She is an incredible human being and connecting with her is a wonderful gift blogging has afforded me, as well as connecting with you. It means a lot to me that you share your valuable time with me through this blog.
Although she didn’t know it at the time, last night I was thinking of Katie when I signed up for 2 more sessions of boot camp to give me 3 solid months of commitment to my personal well-being. I believe she felt the gratefulness in my heart though. ;-) Our relationship that grew through blogging is truly the perfect example of how what you put out there comes right back to you, and often in much greater ways than you could have imagined. I never expected this when I first started blogging.
Part of having a happy life for me involves paying close attention to the energy or feeling I receive from interactions, whether it be with people, places or things. As much as you can, surround yourself with positive energy and you’ll be well on your way.
Katie and her extremely kind words are something I want to look to when I am in need of being uplifted, inspired or motivated. That is why I am going to find a special place to put her words so when I am in need of a boost all I have to do is draw from her love and positivity.
Have you ever considered making a special place in your home, or office, or on the web where you can draw upon the love or wisdom of others, those you know or those you don’t but whose energy, creativity or words inspire you?
When you are conscious of the gifts of heart that come your way, the more you notice them entering your life, and the more fulfilling your life will be.
Print it up, cut it out, or copy and paste to make a special place where you can find the love and inspiration you need. The next time you have a rainy day, you need a smile, or a source of positivity you will know exactly where to go.
Happiness is created all around you, go ahead and soak it in!
