We have two adoarble Persian cats and thought it was time for you to meet them! Our black cat is a female. She's somewhat shy, quiet and sweet as can be. Our flame point cat is a male. He's rambunctious, very lovie, and always making us laugh.

Spring At Home

It feels like Spring at last! I don't know about you, but for me Spring has felt like it's been a long time coming. This year required extra patience. Being at home is my absolute favorite! Don't get me wrong, I love Long Island, NYC, Saratoga and Italy too, but there's something so special and wonderful about being at home in your own space. Over the past couple of days I snapped a few photos from around our home and garden. Flowers are instantly uplifting, and I'm so happy you're here to share in this joy.

We have some ranunculus growing in a pot. We cut a few stems to bring indoors. They're so beautiful, with such gorgeous paper thin petals.

Here are a few more photos of plants in bloom around our house.

And of course, I had to sneak in another picture of Autumn.

She's a Virgo.

Between the three of us girls that live in this house- Autumn, my daughter and I, we have each earth sign covered. We like to take turns at who's the most stubborn.

My daughter underwent surgery on her leg last week. She broke her leg skiing right before her birthday in December, and 4.5 months later this beautiful girl is still healing. She's so tough and such a positive person. I'm one blessed Mama!

The other day I was craving tomato soup so I've been working away at a homemade version. It was good but I think it needs some tweaking. Do you have any suggestions?

Meet the Newest Member of Our Family

Our baby kitten is almost 4 months old and she LOVES baskets!

She has claimed every basket in the house she can find as her own.

I even had to clear out a basket of slippers in our closet so she could have that one too.

She's also been the best cuddle buddy to my daughter who broke her leg recently.

She was born in Montana, and we brought her home on New Year's Eve.

Change Can Be Beautiful

Hello Lovelies,

September is such a wonderful month! First of all it makes me really excited for all the 'ber' months. Although I'm adjusting to the school driving again, I'm really loving the cooler mornings. The darkness creeping in slightly earlier makes me feel cozy in the evening, and I'm delighted to be able to light a few candles. There have been quite a few football games playing on the television in the background of our home, and my daughter's soccer practices are more enjoyable with the less intense heat. Some of the plants are thriving in this fall weather, and not having to water as often is such a blessing. We've been eating a lot of hot peppers from the garden. I think our tolerance for heat has grown tremendously, and it's inspired us to come up with our own heat scale. Below are a few pictures from around our home. Welcome September

It's that time of year when the garden starts to take on a wild beauty. The plants have been growing for months and they've endured a lot of heat (this area saw 100 + temperatures quite often through July and August). Now, it's as if the plants' authentic untamed selves have really started to shine through. It also means I can begin to get really excited for fall and PUMPKINS! A few fall items have trickled into my indoor decor, and I'm so over the moon about it. Please enjoy a few photos from around our home!

Hello my lovely friends,

This weekend my daughter really inspired me. She cut off 12 inches of her hair to donate to wigs for kids. I know to some it's just hair, but if you're someone who's ever grown your hair out for a very long time, you know how big of a deal it can be emotionally to cut it off. My daughter has been growing her hair out for her whole life, so it touched my heart deeply that she wanted to donate it. It also brought back memories of my little sister one year asking my parents if instead of getting presents for Christmas the money could go to an animal shelter. You know how BIG of a deal presents are to a little kid!

I love being inspired and really wanted to share those beautiful vibes with you. Christmas Tree Farm

Welcome!

As you may have guessed by the title, the most exciting thing that happened this week was we broke with tradition and visited our local Christmas tree farm a week early! Usually we get a tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, but it's going to be a busy weekend, and with Covid tree farms are requesting you make an appointment so that they can stay open and keep people safe. I have to say, even though we have our tree up a little early before Thanksgiving, I'm so happy. It looks really beautiful and brings light and joy to our home. I'm also relieved to have one thing taken care of. I absolutely love the holidays, but it can be a lot of effort for sure! Over the years I've learned that spreading out the tasks makes it more enjoyable.

He's a cute little guy full of ornaments. Going to the tree farm, picking out the tree, bringing it in, putting the lights on, and decorating him is a full day experience. I'm always so glad when it's time to relax and enjoy the beauty. When we woke up the next morning, we realized we had another nighttime snowfall, and it simply added to the magic and vivacity.

With Thanksgiving nearly here, I just want to take a moment to say I'm incredibly grateful to all of you, those old and new, for all the support and love over the years. It truly means a lot to me. Whatever your Thanksgiving looks like, whether you celebrate or not, know that you are a treasure to this world, and to me, and it wouldn't be the same without you.

I'm going to take a week off of creating online to enjoy Thanksgiving and get ready for the Christmas season!! So you'll likely not see a new post until the second week of December, but know you're in my thoughts and prayers!

Heavenly Angel - The One I Miscarried

Before I had my first child I had a miscarriage.
I know exactly when it was... before the bleeding even started.
I wasn't very far along, maybe 10 or 11 weeks when I went to work one day and started bleeding.
I was 6 weeks when the baby died.
I remember it.
The shower felt really hot... suffocating in fact.
It was small and enclosed with a glass door.
I got out, stepped onto the bathroom floor mat and curled over in pain. It hurt so bad for a moment I lied naked on the floor in a tight ball.
I also remember the moment I knew I was pregnant. Not when I took the test. It was earlier than that.
I was watching the movie Garden State.
I had a smidge of Bailey's in my coffee. Something I occasionally did on the weekend as a treat.
It's the only time I consciously remember having alcohol when there was a possibility of me being pregnant.
Like it didn't count unless I had proof I was pregnant.
It haunts me from time to time - wondering if I caused damage to my own baby.
Or maybe it wasn't meant to be?
Maybe it happened to teach me something about life and death, unconditional love, or that becoming a parent is a gift?
About 10 years later I stopped drinking completely, barely swallowing a sip here and there to acknowledge the flavor of a good champagne or wine.
I didn't stop because I was addicted, although my heart aches for anyone who is.
I stopped drinking because as I became more and more sensitive to energy. As my intuitive strength grew, and I became stronger in myself I didn't like what alcohol did to me.
It blocked me, and I never wanted to be blocked again.
I want all my senses turned on, working and open.
I want my third eye open.
I want to be able to feel and see the energy around me, visible and not.
I was young... 24 when I miscarried. My body bounced back quickly.
Not too long after the miscarriage, a full cycle, I tried again and got pregnant right away again.
I didn't touch alcohol or anything I thought could even possibly, remotely hurt my baby.
I painstakingly followed all the rules without question.
I had a healthy son.
One that didn't want to sleep anywhere but on me.
One that would bite me hard when he was teething.
A son I love with my whole heart.
3 years after that I gave birth to a big, beautiful 9 lb 5 oz girl.
I often wondered if she was the girl I miscarried come back to be with me on Earth.
If not, and my baby girl is up there in heaven amongst the stars and loving dimensions I hope she knows how much I love her, how much I miss her, how much I would love one of her hugs right now.
I am so excited for the day I knowingly see her again!
I wonder if she sits over my shoulder loving me unconditionally.
I wonder if she hears me when I cry, if she feels when my heart hurts.
I wonder if she felt the pain I felt the moment she died in my tummy.
I know she's with me whether she's a part of my daughter, or my guardian angel, or both...anything's possible.
I'm so lucky she loved me so much she let me carry her for the amount of time she did.
Maybe it's important to say I have no proof she was a girl. I just know.
I want you to know that true love can never die, whether it walks beside us in human form or not.
I want you to know that your heavenly babies love you and are still with you.
And there are a lot of women like me who are here for you, who's heart both hurt with yours, and share your joy.
I pulled this card today and I knew it was time...
15 years later to feel her with me now, share our story (hers and mine),
