There have been a lot of things happening in the world that make me feel sick and awful all over when I let myself think about them. I know so many of us have been feeling that way. Maybe you’ve shed tears over the state of our world, and the horrible events that sometimes happen.
I have such an important message for you that I really want you to take in and fully absorb. It’s a message I learned from Doreen Virtue and I feel very strongly it needs to be passed on. Doreen says don’t add worry energy to the world, it’s like pouring gasoline onto the fire. She says instead to pray, pray, pray. This is really important because it is so easy for everyone, myself included, to worry about what’s happening to the world, and worry about what the world is going to look like for our children. However, this worry is not helping the shift. We need to shift the planet with love and light, so instead of worrying I recommend following Doreen’s advice to pray, pray, pray. My teacher Belinda Davidson has suggested in her school before envisioning the whole planet living in peace, harmony and abundance. I love the idea of using this visualization when you catch yourself jumping into the worry rabbit hole, and I am going to suggest you try that as well. We are all energy and our energy has a direct impact on our planet. You may not always feel like it does, but trust me it does! If you add love and light to the world, you ARE making a difference. Don’t be the gasoline that makes things worse, be the light, live the light, come from a place of peace and joy. Live your authentic joyful life, and don’t waste it on worry. You’re actually helping the world by doing that. I believe in you, I believe in the power of our energy, and as hard as it is for me to sometimes say, I believe in our planet. With all my love and infinite more, Wendy Irene Sunday is a day I like to wake up slowly, stay in my pajamas a little longer, drink a soy latte and rest. I’ve found it absolutely essential to take one day each week for rest. Most of us spend so much time in the fast lane, juggling chaotic family schedules that we’ve forgotten our happiness lies in the slow enjoyment of the present moment. When I was a little girl my family used to go to church every Sunday. It inspired me in a way I didn’t fully comprehend at the time. Although those days have passed, and I currently no longer visit my local church each week, I’ve found a special place where I get my weekly inspiration, lessons, and aha moments all from the comfort of my home. I wrap myself in a blanket, turn on the fire and watch with excitement- Super Soul Sunday! Super Soul Sunday is without a doubt my favorite show on television. It’s the only show I walk away from feeling uplifted and enriched on a deep, meaningful level. Super Soul Sunday often features the authors of many of my favorite books. Hearing their spiritual guidance and wisdom first hand makes my heart sing. There is purpose for all of us here, each and every one of us. I invite you to wake up and get inspired every Sunday morning along with Oprah, me and many others. Give yourself the gift of rest to rejuvenate and enjoy life, if not for the whole day, at least for an hour or two every Sunday morning. This week’s episode features a New Generation of Thought Leaders, who also happen to be 3 of my favorite bloggers- Marie Forleo, Gabrielle Bernstein, and Mastin Kipp. They spend countless hours giving the best of themselves to benefit all of us through their inspirational work. Here is a sneak peek into this week’s episode. The reason I wanted to share Super Soul Sunday with you is because I feel so strongly it can impact your life and well-being immensely. I hope you’ll join me in this spiritual awakening!
Tune-in for Super Soul Sunday at 11am on OWN With love & gratitude, Wendy Irene The best way to enrich your life, to bring about happiness and a sense of fulfillment, comes surprisingly not from focusing on our own wants, but in making a difference in the lives of others. There are 3 necessary steps in making a difference and encouraging positive change in this beautiful world we all call home. If you’ve ever asked yourself what can I do to make a mark on this world? How can I contribute? What is my purpose? Then this video is for you. Start the road to true joy by opening your horizons to the infinite possibilities of great impact you can have on this world. You were born for a reason. Our biggest mistake is thinking that our one small action isn’t enough to make a difference. We get caught up in the excuses that stop us from taking action. It is in taking action that you will begin to more fully understand why you were given the gift of life. Watch this video to find out how you can change lives and leave this world a better place than when you first arrived. YouTube Video: http://youtu.be/gppYVfMK-FA Thank you for watching friends! Please share with us – Have you ever thought about a topic you’re passionate about and want to create positive change? What makes you worked up inside? Do you have any ideas of what action you can take? You have the power to get the ball rolling, to inspire all those around you to do the same. It is not that our actions need to be huge it is that we all take a step towards the world we wish to create. A world where we ask ourselves -What would love do? “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough, we must do.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci With love & gratitude, Wendy Irene *A special Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Rachel! May all your wishes come true *~* Dear Earth, I love you! I think you need to hear it more often. You’re constantly taken for granted, treated badly, and ignored. You give us everything we need, whether or not we return your love. You don’t place expectations on us. You hold us up. You keep us warm. You feed us. You give us life and water. Without you we wouldn’t exist. We are surrounded by your everlasting beauty, yet we overlook it far too often. You create the best show on earth for us twice daily, yet we rarely watch. You provide music, soothing sounds, although the noise in our heads is so loud we rarely hear. You bring love into our lives, and when we’re lucky we treat that most precious gift with respect and kindness. We hoard your precious gems when you’ve provided plenty for all. We worry when peace is all around and within. We rush, when you get everything done without the pressure of time. You continue to be there for us, no matter what we do or how we treat you. Your love is truly the definition of unconditional. One day too, we will return that unconditional love. I know it is inside of us. That we are capable. Thank you for waiting so patiently. I’m hoping sooner rather than later… Love, Wendy Irene Happy World Water Day!Running your hands through crystal clean water. Drinking it. Nourishing your children without worry. Doesn’t everyone deserve that? It breaks my heart to think that any mother is forced to give their thirsty child dirty water, because they don’t have any other options. For these Mothers giving their children this water is like rolling the dice. The water can make them very sick, and even kill. We have so much, and sadly we often take it for granted, but we don’t have to! We are here for a reason, and with all that we have, even and especially the small things comes a responsibility to give back. We are responsible for the future evolution of our planet! I want a world where clean water is available to everyone, no matter where in the world you are born, or who your family is. Every person deserves that! I never want to hear of another child or person getting ill or even worse dying because they don’t have clean water to drink. The next time you fill up your bathtub with ease and climb in to relax remember… We are blessed with everything we have so that we can help others. Give back to the exquisite universe that has given so much to you! Water.org is an organization very close to my heart. I first found out about Water.org through friends on Facebook, and am forever grateful. You can help spread their life saving work too! Here are some ways you can help:· Donate your voice on Facebook or Twitter. Get the word out amongst your social circle. Your voice is invaluable! · Purchase products as gifts, or for yourself. · Make a Donation · Stay informed The next time you gaze at the sparkling clean water coming from your faucet, smile knowing you have the opportunity to give what you have been given. Giving is the truest, most pure way I know to be happy. “If you get, give. If you learn, teach.” ~ Maya Angelou Put yourself in the giving energy cycle and you’ll never want to turn back! Thank you, Water.org for giving us the ability to help give water to those who need it, and for moving us forward towards the evolution of a more loving planet! In fact, thank you isn’t big enough at all, but I somehow think you already know and feel in your hearts how tremendous your impact is! The Seven Spiritual Laws for Parents by Deepak Chopra has inspired my family to make Mondays the day of giving. Combat the Monday back to work blues by finding the source of true happiness through giving. Start your week out right by entering a positive energy cycle. On this day focus on one way you can give. Ways to Give: A Few Ideas
*In addition, you can also give by joining the Meatless Monday movement and help our planet!
If you start your week off with a day devoted to giving, you are putting yourself in a positive energy cycle, empowering both you and those you help to have a more positive week. "What I know for sure is that what you give comes back to you. " ~Oprah Winfrey “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.” ~Maya Angelou “Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give.” ~Eleanor Roosevelt Help us give- We need more ideas! What simple ideas can you think of for giving on Mondays? Make this New Year your biggest year of giving yet! Give of yourself. Give your time. Give your help. Give your attention. Give your love freely without conditions. If you give more of yourself this year than you ever have before, be prepared to receive graciously. For when you give you start the cycle. What you give, you will surely receive, often in greater volumes. There have been times when I didn’t offer my help to someone who may have needed it. Usually because I felt awkward, or I didn’t know how they would feel about it. On a drive home last year I saw an elderly man attempting to shovel his walkway while using a walker. I did not know him and felt strange about stopping to offer my help, because I had no idea how he would receive it. This year I vow to offer my help and let go of fears of what others might think, and allow them to decide if my help is wanted. There is so much we can do to make this world a more loving, beautiful place, but it takes courage. Courage to ACT! This is the year to give and to act! Many blessing will follow. Trying to sum up what I learned from Oprah at O You! feels like an overwhelming task. Oprah has taught me and continues to teach me so much it is hard to know where to begin. What I know for sure it the world is blessed to have Oprah in it, and as Gayle King so nicely said once in an interview; as Oprah rises to the top she reaches out her hand to help others up. Just a few minutes of listening to Oprah and you feel like you can change the world, and most importantly yourself! The main topic of Oprah’s speech at O You! was What I Know For Sure. I encourage you to read The Top 20 Things Oprah Knows For Sure here: http://www.oprah.com/spirit/The-Top-20-Things-Oprah-Knows-for-Sure There you will find great wisdom and inspiration that come from a place of truth. What I’d like to share with you today is a compilation of notes I took during Oprah’s O You! 2011 speech; both words and ideas that deeply moved me. Not everything you will read here is an exact quote, some things are a direct quote and some of it is paraphrased. What I hope is that you will be able to take this celebrated knowledge and wisdom and apply it to your own life, so that you can live your best life! Inspirational Words & Notes from |
