Friday morning the kids and I woke up to the first snowfall of the year, at least that we are aware of J. To say it was magical is an understatement! It was a light flurry of snow but the happiness it brought us was much greater. How perfect, snow to add sparkle to the holidays!
The kids were jumping, smiling, singing in excitement. Baby was standing on the windowsill, assisted by Mommy of course, clapping. The changing of the seasons for me brings much happiness. I love living in an area of 4 seasons. It keeps things new and exciting for me. The first snowfall is my favorite change to celebrate. It makes me envision many things. One being the desire to have a winter cabin on a mountain somewhere with large windows and heaping piles of snow. However, right now I am happy where I am watching the snowflakes gather on the deck railing.
I love how the snow glistens and brings a sense of wonderment. It makes me appreciate the mountain scenery and tall pine trees of coastal BC even more. Snow makes being inside feel cozy.
Thank you Mother Nature for this beautiful gift!
Here is a quote I came across that seemed very fitting for today’s post.
Quote by Horace Friess:
All seasons are beautiful for the person who carries happiness within.
Snow isn’t for everyone. Fortunately this world is a much more beautiful place filled with an infinite variety of people.
What makes you happy? Being surrounded by snow, or ceasing the opportunity to adventure some place warm, or are you somewhere in-between?
