After a fun filled Holiday party on Friday night, the family and I were fortunate enough to be treated to a home cooked dinner at our friend’s house on Saturday night. We were feeling tired after staying up late on Friday night, so the low key home dinner on Saturday was just perfect.
The car ride over did not go smoothly. We were already running very late because we had too much to do stuffed into one day. By the time we got home to pack up what we need to bring with us we should have already left so it was a very mad dash around the house trying to gather everything we needed, especially with a baby!
After leaving very late and driving in the dark one of the main roads we wanted to take was closed! There were no detour signs and we got completely lost making us even more ridiculously late then we already were. All I can say is I am so GLAD I was not driving! I am hoping one of these days I can convince my husband that a GPS would be a great thing for me. Especially because I am directionally challenged and was no help in finding our way.
Frustration attracts more frustration, which is why I believe it is always when you are already late you run into more problems. A good reminder for me to keep a positive attitude for a whole multitude of reasons.
When we arrived at our friend’s house we loved the wonderful display of blue and multi color lights they had outside. It immediately cheered us up and put us in the holiday spirit. The inside of the house was just as spectacular. The more formal living room had a beautifully decorated tree with all the finest ornaments. The tree was next to the fireplace whose mantel was decorated with lighted garland, complete with a great Christmas picture hanging above.
Downstairs where the kids played together was another beautiful kid friendly tree without any glass ornaments. The garland on the tree was a cute string of glittered candies. It looked great! I need to start remembering my camera to share more pictures.
We were treated to an absolutely fabulous lasagne dinner complete with garlic bread and caeser salad. The food was excellent! The lasagne was the perfect blend of cheeses with noodles, and a meat sauce. I loved it. Lasagne is one of my all time favorite dishes and this was as good as it gets for me. Thank you so much for having our family over!
Good Food with Good Friends really isn’t that what life is all about?
Thank you again!
