Pie Crust Appetizer Idea from MarthaStewart.com
Have left over pie crust?
Don’t throw it out! Roll out scraps, cut out shapes with cookie cutters, sprinkle with cheese and bake until golden brown. A quick and easy appetizer. If you don’t need the appetizer now I would suggest freezing them and saving for a pre-made appy.
Jazzing Up Weekend Breakfast
To make your weekend pancakes or waffles a little more festive for the holidays try adding whipped cream, or a light version, with red and green or holiday themed sprinkles on top. The white whip cream will really make the color of the sprinkles pop. You can also do this on top of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
Home Made Gift – Fire Side Coffee from AllRecipes.com
This is one I have done myself a couple of times and really like.
Ingredients:
2 cups powdered non-dairy creamer
1-1/2 cups instant hot chocolate mix
1-1/2 cups instant coffee granules
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions:
Mix ingredients well in a large bowl. Pour into jars.
Include a directions tag – 3 teaspoons of mix to 1 cup of hot water, adjust to taste. Try using milk instead of water for a special treat!
*To finish the gift off try wrapping the jar in a dishtowel tied with a ribbon. For an extra touch try tucking a cinnamon stick in ribbon, and/or tie measuring spoons to the ribbon. You could also pair this gift with a special mug.
