If you saw your life as a countdown clock what would you spend your time doing? I don’t recommend viewing your life as a ticking clock, because staying present in the moment is where I believe happiness is, but you could use it as a tool every now and then to evaluate how you are spending your time.
Some things are essential. Maybe not our ideal way to spend the time, but take a close look to see what is behind it. For instance when you’re picking up the spilled cereal all over the floor, what lies behind it? Why are you doing it? You are doing the task because you love your children, and taking care of and providing for them is something to be proud of.
Viewing your time as a precious gift helps you make the most of it. Pay attention to what you surround yourself with and the feelings it brings you. Recognize what makes you happy. If something doesn’t make you happy can you do without it? What about the things that don’t make you happy but you feel are truly necessary? Is there a way you can change your view of it? Decide to see the sun behind the haze, or the love that sits quietly in the background while you are doing it?
We are creating our lives, and you can choose to let those bumps in the road send you flying higher to a new, deeper understanding, or to let them trip you up sending you crashing to the ground. We all fall, but the more aware we are of the bumps we hit and lessons we learn along the way, the greater potential there is in seeing those clumps of dirt as gifts themselves.
Be the love you want to see in others, and surround yourself with the ones that inspire who you want to be. Take that precious moment to love your reflection.
For me I believe everyone’s time is equally important, and when someone spends their gift of time sending love and support to me, like those of you who support this blog, I feel it is of the upmost importance to show my heartfelt appreciation.
Today the Modern Mom team wrote a deeply touching article supporting myself and other very talented Blogging Moms.
There are many amazing blogs mentioned in the article that I am honored to be a part of. You can check it out here.
I know how much time and effort goes behind putting something like this together. Much more than appears on the outside. Thank you Modern Mom! It is my goal to regularly contribute to the Modern Mom blog. Of all the beautiful sites out there to spend time on; none deserve it more than them. You can check out my most recent post called How to Get Motivated here. The onset of spring seems like a wonderful time to re-motivate yourself in all areas of your life in need.
To join the most caring, supportive community out there you don’t have to be a Mom. There genuinely is so much value in the site for everyone. Consider joining if you simply know a Mom, and I think we all do! J
