If we are really honest with ourselves, even with good intentions, behind giving often lies expectations. You want or are hoping for something in return, whether it is acknowledgement or something more. Releasing all expectations behind giving before you give is where you will find the most joy, and sometimes the biggest and best surprises.
The times in my life when I have given of myself and I am truly the happiest, are when I deep down wanted and expected nothing in return. Oddly enough, those seem to be the very same times the best things happen, probably as a result of the pure positive energy being released into the universe.

expectations. You may find pleasant unexpected surprises around the corner when you let go of wanting something in return. I truly believe the universe is all-loving and wants good things for you.
