Last night my Hubby and I watched The Office. It is not a show that we normally watch because of our limited time. We had a good time watching it last night though. One of the lines I thought was particularly hilarious was during a session of office confessions Steve Carell’s character said something along the lines of “When I first discovered You Tube videos I didn’t work for 5 days.” To watch the episode go to http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/video/episodes/?vid=1177548#vid=1177548 or click the link.
We laughed pretty hard at that because I think most of us can in some way relate. You Tube videos are very entertaining. They can make you laugh, enjoy a song you don’t personally own, or help you to share a video with family and friends.
Where I am confused is, what you tube videos are ok to post on your blog? Previously I have shared videos with you to add to my posts. Some of them have mysteriously disappeared or stopped working. I tried to do some research on what was ok to post and only found very conflicting information.
As far as I understand if you personally create the video that is ok to post, but what about the other videos? Is that a violation of copyright? I am not trying to violate and copyright laws, and with the ability to share videos on facebook and other social networking pages it didn’t occur to that there would be any problem with sharing the videos on your blog.
If you have any information on posting You Tube videos to your blog I would love to hear from you, either by leaving a comment or emailing me at wendy@givelovecreatehappiness.com
Have a great Saturday!
