Today, I am going to share with you a quick and easy protein shake that I love to make on super busy mornings. The ones when I feel like I barely have time to breathe let alone eat a nutritious breakfast. You know those days when pulling out or washing the beautiful greens and veggies you bought at the store seems like too much work? We all have them sometimes. The smoothie recipe I’m sharing with you today is so fast it takes about as much time as pouring a bowl of cereal. Only the protein in this recipe will keep you satiated, and you’ll get an energy boost from nourishing your body.
Hemp seeds have a rich nutty flavor, and a tender crunch. One 30g serving of hemp seeds offers 10 grams of plant protein that is easy to digest, as well as 10 grams of omegas.
Keep this smoothie in mind for your family members that refuse to drink anything green. It looks appealing and tastes great! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and if you make it on a morning you’re not as rushed, you might even have an extra 5 minutes to relax or read.

Banana-Hemp Protein Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup water
3 Tbsp. (30g) raw shelled hemp seeds (I used Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts)
1 banana
½ tsp. pure vanilla extract (optional)
Directions:
To a blender add water, hemp seeds, banana, and vanilla extract if desired. Blend on high for 1 minute.
