“Almost every aspect of our modern-day lifestyle takes our attention outside ourselves, so daily reading as part of a spiritual practice brings our attention back inward.” ~ Yogi Cameron
The above quote from the book The Yogi Code: Seven Universal Laws of Infinite Success by Yogi Cameron speaks volumes to me. Reading the work of spiritual teachers that I feel intuitively aligned with has played an incredibly important role in my own spiritual journey.
Have you ever felt the magic of being in the flow where the exact book you need at the exact time you need it crosses your path?
This is how receiving and reading The Yogi Code felt for me, and in fact all of the books I’ve read on the topic of spirituality. It’s as if each book perfectly unveils itself to me one by one in a divine sequence that I could never have planned myself. Since my early twenties I’ve felt this deep desire within to study and practice spirituality. While most 20 somethings were talking about which bar they wanted to go to, I was more enthralled with watching Oprah and Eckhart Tolle speak about A New Earth.

“The more authentic the teachings that we follow, the better we will be guided and catapulted into higher thinking and higher living. These teachings shouldn’t take us deeper into the mind with intellectual talk but should help us release our mind through spiritual practices.” ~ Yogi Cameron
There are so many beautiful jewels of wisdom to be received from the book The Yogi Code. One of the biggest for me being to pay attention to why I do anything I’m doing, even something as simple as watching television. Why am I doing it and what are my intentions? In fact, the very act of asking yourself what your intentions are quickly allows you to figure out if you are acting from your heart space or your ego. At this stage in my journey I’m working hard to become very aware of my ego in order to free myself from its control.
“As you get into the habit of first checking your motivations and intentions, slowly you will start to head in a direction that is preferable to you and old habits will turn into new and productive ones.” ~ Yogi Cameron
Meditation, yoga, and spiritual reading are a few of my very favorite practices to step outside of my mind and realign with my soul. These are practices that I do on a consistent basis. They are priorities in my life that help me stay the course to living out my purpose.
“On our path to our purpose and living out that purpose, we need as few distractions as possible and as much discipline and control of our senses and mind as possible. The outer world is not much help to us in this regard, because everything around us is constantly drawing us outward to consume more.” ~ Yogi Cameron
In addition to the soulful wisdom and inspiration found in the book, Yogi Cameron includes many expertly created practices that will help you focus and set great intentions. He also created and shares a twenty-one-day Yogi code kick-start plan.
For my friends that enjoy social media and join me there, you’ve probably seen me share Yogi Cameron and his wife Yogi Jaima’s work. I’ve also been following and sharing Yogi Cameron’s free videos for a long time because I find them so beneficial, and get excited about passing on the new things I’m learning that I click with.
I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received The Yogi Code for review purposes, because not only did I already cherish Yogi Cameron’s existing work, this book really took me deeper, helped me go beyond my mind and expanded my practices. If the prospect of reading this book lights you up I highly recommend you listen to that calling, read it and implement the practices into your life. Do check out the wonderful work Yogi Cameron is sharing with the world on his website yogicameron.com. I hope you love it as much as I do!
