Lighting Up The Dark

One of my very favorite things to do this time of year is to go for a night drive to look at the beautiful, twinkling Christmas lights.

Looking for the shimmering lights in the dark is a wonderful reminder that we always have the choice to look for the light despite the dark, and that there is beauty if we choose to see it. I love listening to some classic Christmas tunes quietly in the background as well, creating an atmosphere of joy. Cultivate the light and the joy in your life no matter how dark things look, and you will be truly blessed.

This week my daughter and I made Santa's favorite cookie-chocolate chip, after making gingerbread cookies last week. Get my recipe here!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (Santa’s Favorite Vegan Cookie!)

We packaged up a few of the gingerbread snowflakes and chocolate chip cookies to make them look pretty. When I was a kid I used to pretend I had a store in my family's dinning room. With my plastic, toy cash register I sold whatever I baked for fake money to my siblings. I think packing up the goodies was one of my favorite parts.

One year, I even put a real cash register on my Christmas list to Santa, lol. Did you ask for any funny things as a kid? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear.
