Free Yoga Class with Wendy Irene

Hi Friends!

I’ve missed you. Life’s been a little crazy. Have you ever experienced those times when you feel like you’re being pushed along by the Universe quickly? Lovingly of course. I do believe the Universe is always working for our greatest good whether we understand it from our limited perspective or not.

Right now I’m deep in yoga teacher training at Abide Yoga. As part of my training I’m offering a free class this Saturday at noon in Spokane, WA across the street from Gonzaga University's new basketball arena. I would love for you to come and support me with your lovely presence. I’ll take all the positive vibes and light you want to send me too. Below are the details. I hope to see you in person and in spirit.

Will you do this 5 minute challenge with me?

Hello lovelies,

There's something I want to ask you to do with me. I feel like if I commit to it here with you and you decide to join me I’ll be motivated to follow through and keep my word.

This fall I am going to spend a lot of time working on deepening my yoga practice. The main reason I love yoga might not be the reason most people do. The reason I love yoga is for it's ability to move stuck energy. That's why I personally am devoted to it at this stage in my life. I also believe that to stay youthful as we age it's vital to keep nutrients moving up and down the spine and yoga is also great for that.

One of the things I really need to work on is my hamstrings. They're pretty tight and always have required some work. I'd like to challenge you and myself everyday for the next month to do a 5 minute seated wide legged forward fold. It might be nice to play some pretty music and light a candle too if you want to make it even more soothing.

What's the energetic benefit of doing a seated forward fold? A lot of our emotions get stuck at the bottom of the spine so doing a forward fold is helpful in releasing emotions too, not just good for the stretching the ol' hamstrings.

If you feel stuff come up while you're doing a forward fold, let it out, celebrate and go ahead and cry if that's what your body calls for. It's all healing. It's all self love.

When doing the forward fold you don't want to go all the way to your edge if you're holding it for a length of time. You want to be able to relax into it. Prop yourself up on as many pillows and blankets as you need. If having straight legs is too much of a stretch roll blankets up under your knees or use a pillow. Try propping your butt on a blanket or pillow to help lift you off the ground a little to fold forward better. Depending on your flexibility doing a forward fold doesn't even have to mean you actually fold forward if sitting up straight is enough of a stretch.

I started out with bent knees until my hamstrings opened up a bit more.

Although I do relax into it, you do want to focus on bending forward from your hips as much as possible as opposed to bending your back. When you get to the spot you're comfortable folding to from your hips then relax into the pose from there.

Will you join me, please? Let's energetically support one another. If you're in my family and have tight hamstrings you should definitely do this with me (Haha! No pressure). It's even more important for those of us who have trouble with it and beneficial for all.

Healing Pose to Balance Chakra 2

Hello dear one,

One of the things I feel super passionate about is helping people get their life in alignment with their soul, as well as become the healthiest, most joyful version of themselves they can be. I believe the key to creating a life full of purpose and well-being is to start with your energy. Everything happens on the energetic level first before manifesting into form. Energy and the chakra system are something I’ve studied extensively in School of the Modern Mystic as well as in my reiki training. Therefore, my favorite way to get to the root cause of any problem or stagnation is to work on getting your energy flowing freely, clearing any blockages in your chakras.

Think of energetic blocks like having a blocked artery, where the blood flow is constricted and can’t properly circulate throughout the body. By lovingly and gently focusing on your chakras you can help clear any blockages you might be experiencing in them.

Chakra 2 is a chakra most of us have stagnation in. To make a brief point, I also believe in a lot of ways our society is setup to keep us stuck in our chakra two, we are a lot easier to control that way. Think about it... if our energy is stuck in chakra 2 this is where addictions can start and also where blockages in abundance can occur. In order to create masterfully we want the energy to flow freely upward from chakra 2 into the higher chakras.

Here’s a pose you can do to help get the energy flowing freely in your chakra two. Lay on your back, place the bottoms of your feet together and allow your legs to open up like butterfly wings. Place your hands in a triangle position over your second chakra or lower abdomen (thumb touching thumb, and pointer finger touching pointer finger).

If this position is uncomfortable for you flexibility-wise please do place blocks, pillows or rolled up blankets under your thighs at whatever height you need to support your legs. You want to be comfortable and not overly stretching in this position.

Allow your breathing to slow down naturally, and focus on the area of your body with the triangle, the sacral chakra. You may want to envision the color orange filling up this area. Orange is the color of your second chakra. Lay here for a few minutes. Whenever you notice your attention is drawn away from your second chakra by your thoughts, that’s OK simply gently bring your attention back to your second chakra.

If focusing on your second chakra is too difficult for your mind to slow down you can also add in positive mantras to help you such as I am abundant. I am joyful. I love myself, or anything that seems fitting for your life and is gentle and loving.

Today I want to share with you a sweet example of how energy works.

A few days ago I shared a touching video on Facebook about homeless people that truly moved me. It showed they weren't all just drunk, lazy addicts like many would believe, and in fact they are capable of the most incredible things.

Later on in the same day I was at Redbox returning a movie and a homeless person stopped me. I'll be honest normally I'd probably get scared. I was already concerned when I saw him from my car. He didn't ask for money or for anything from me. He simply gave me a kind compliment. When I spoke to him directly from my heart space instead of fear and responded thank you, he replied to me with the most genuine you're welcome I've ever heard. Acts of kindness can happen in the most unusual places, and that moment has inspired me to pass on the kindness in any way I can today.

The video I have for you is something I've been wanting to do for a while now. It strips away all the makeup, glam, microphone and fancy camera and is 'just me' in my usual space like my kids see me everyday.

I've been really feeling the push inside to get as natural as possible and let go of things that don't serve my soul. I'd love to hear from you friends. Is this calling something you're experiencing too? Let me know beautiful soul!

Making the Highest Vibration Choice

Hello there beautiful soul,

We had a little bit of snow here today in Northern Idaho. Yippee! I was thrilled. It’s so much fun to soak up the joy. Snow equals magic for me, and it’s also a part of Earth’s chakra 5. If you’re aware of chakras, think of the Earth having her own chakra system and soul. She is just as in need of light and positive energy flow as we are, so when you fill yourself with light make sure to send some to our beautiful Mother Earth below.

The intention of the video Making the Highest Vibration Choice is to help you be conscious of whether you are making a decision out of love or fear. When you act consciously out of love you raise your personal vibration, which raises the vibration of the world. As Belinda Davidson says, being conscious is your gift to the world. If you begin making choices out of love over fear your entire life will shift towards the light.

Yoga Balances the Chakras

With all my heart, I believe yoga is a fantastic way to move stagnant energy in your chakra system. Yoga aids your chakras, or wheels of energy, in spinning the way they are meant to in order to create or draw in a life that you love - a life full of joy, health, abundance and unconditional love.

The chakra cleanse meditation that I learned from Belinda Davidson is my #1 go-to practice for keeping my chakras healthy and fit, however meditation is not appealing to everyone, especially at the start of a spiritual journey when you’re new to going inward to seek your truth. It can be challenging to quiet the mind when you haven’t practiced it before, however yoga helps you do energetic work on yourself while giving your mind something to focus on.

In my experience, based solely on what works in my life, combining meditation and yoga together in your weekly or daily self-care is incredibly powerful. Yoga helps you become very aware of your body and where exactly you are storing emotions or past pain. There have been times I could not do a yoga pose I would normally be able to do with ease because I could energetically feel a chakra was stuck. This gave me the awareness I needed to then focus on that particular chakra even more in my meditation in order to channel extra white light to that area of my body.

You are a divine work of art, and your life is meant to be amazing! This magic happens when you get your energetic system working properly, which is much bigger than your body, and you combine that with following your intuition or inner-guidance.
